Mime Workshop Success
Seven days of tuition in the Dance Drama studio, from internationally acclaimed mime teacher and choreographer, Marise Flach, was completed on 15th January, and was assessed as a truly successful venture. This is the first time Charioteer Theatre has brought an outside teacher to run a workshop, and what an incredible gift to have such a person. Marise, 78 yrs old, and having studied with and assisted Etienne Decroux, a founder of the mime discipline as we understand it today, generously and patiently brought the first stages of this teaching to a range of participants, some actors, some otherwise; some local, some from Edinburgh and Inverness.
This
was the very first time that Marise has been in Scotland and she had a
lovely time, thanks to the special care of Auriol who accommodated her.
She talks of coming again next year. Hoorah! Thank you to Laura, our Artistic
director for her skilful translation. Thank you to all the participants
for their dedication to their own passion, making the time, and having
the courage to undertake this training. Thank you to Arts Council for
Moray, Moray Council Arts Development and HIE Moray, for their support.

Superb. Many highlights. Perhaps what I take with me the sense of physical and mental wellbeing this work gives. I appreciate the concentrated focus on the theme and the depth of experience of the teacher. - Gillian
Oustanding teaching, great organisation, very good venue; would definitely recommend and look out for further training. - Rachel, professional actor
Very high quality teaching. OK space, natural light and fresh air would be better. Whenever Maris gave examples / demonstration, I was captivated. As a teacher, I learnt a lot about teaching approach and method. - Mat, professional actor
Exceptionally good teaching; extremely well personalised feedback which was very helpful in the process of learning a new technique. The feedback was also communicated in a very supportive manor and very clear. Excellent translation of Italian in to English. - Hidburg
