Welcome to Charioteer Theatre PDF Print E-mail

CHARIOTEER THEATRE is a professional touring theatre company. Our vision is to form an Acting School which will serve as a resource for Master classes, for productions and for community outreach. We currently offer shows in Scotland and abroad and provide regular training courses in the beautiful setting of Moray, Scotland for aspiring and professional actors.

Founded in 2004 and now operating as a limited company, Charioteer Theatre encourages Actors to look to develop their skills professionally. Our Artistic Director, Laura Pasetti, is both an experienced actress and tutor. Laura’s reputation ensures that Charioteer Theatre can offer high-quality courses drawing on leading international exponents in the field of acting, physical movement and voice.

Our courses focus on the acting process through the laboratory form. Actors have the chance to engage with the creative process and to explore their potentials. Actors are able to experiment with methods and techniques in a supportive group environment to increase their knowledge and improve their interpretative skills whatever their personal stage of development.

Charioteer works with the Classics as an incredible resource for inspiration and offers each actor a solid starting point for professional development. We aim to attract and expand audiences by encouraging Actors' discipline and skill, thereby enabling performances of inspirational quality. By re-establishing the Classics Charioteer Theatre seeks to contribute to a broader range of culture in Scotland. Our courses regularly attract overseas students, providing UK student the opportunity for cultural exchange of ideas about theatre. Our theatre company also plans regular tours to Italy and around Scotland.

In 2005 Anatoli Vassiliev, the acclaimed Russian Theatre Master and Director, happily agreed to become a patron of Charioteer Theatre.
