led by Ilya Kozin Elements of Study: These will include a variety of physical and vocal techniques that will further develop an actor's skills and abilities to characterise and authentically present the text of the playwright effectively. This will be achieved through specific exercises, movements and improvisations which will improve the actor's physicality on stage and vocal capabilities. The ability of the actor to sustain the energy and rhythm required for performance through stamina, strength and concentration will also be a focus of this laboratory.
Teacher: It will be led by Ilya Kozin, who was a student of the Russian master Anatoli Vassiliev. Ilya is an actor, teacher and a martial artist, working with actors and students alike in Russia and in Western Europe Particular attention is paid to the development of each individual. Starting from the technique, this work develops the skills to improvise and compose beyond ordinary gestures to powerful images and symbols. This is the great quality of contemporary dance: take the Ordinary and transform it into the Extraordinary. This course requires no particular background, although it is preferable for the students to have some experience in dance movement.
COURSE VENUE & DATES Venue: The course will be held at Newbold House, Forres on the 5th and 6th Jan. and then at Forres House Community Centre, Forres, from 7th -12th January. Map and B&B list available on request. to 5pm
