AN ACTOR PREPARES FOR BECKETT
The International Drama Schools Festival -
Milan, Italy
8th & 9th November 2006
The Milan Experience certainly lived up to expectations! After a successful opening night in the Universal Hall on the 27th of October, we arrived in Milan on the 5th of November, and settled in very quickly. Our hotel was excellent and the theatre staff most helpful and hospitable.
Every
effort was made to ensure the success of our project and great interest
was shown in Scotland by students, teachers and actors alike. After rehearsing
for two days with the technical team, we presented An Actor Prepares
for Beckett, on the evenings of the 8th and 9th of November.
We were both surprised and thrilled to discover that tickets were sold out for both performances, and played to 300 people each night.
Our work was received with enthusiasm, interest and appreciation. Representatives from other theatres were present and expressed the desire to view more of our work and methods of training.
It is very likely that there will be more Scottish / Italian projects in the future.
We returned on Nov.10.
